Some things you may not know about Kat

  • She ran her first ‘business’ for a week during lunch hour in Grade 9, selling drinks with friends as part of an introduction to business class. The profits weren’t great, but the experience was memorable!
  • As a fan of communication, Katherine speaks English, Spanish, French, and German.
  • Her biggest inspirations are her parents, who came from South America and had to rebuild their entire lives in Canada.

How she became the founder of Sensible Marketer

Kat found that working in marketing was her passion, as it let her build a strategy, launch it, and see if it worked. When it worked, “how could it be better?” Kat’s curiosity fuels her to stay on trend with digital marketing tips and tricks to make sure businesses get the most out of their campaigns.

From working at Neteller (a tech startup), Telus, and Shaw Communications, Kat learned how to see the big picture and build a strategy while creating agile processes for campaigns to get great results. Working in both startup and enterprise companies, having worked clientside with agencies her entire career, Kat was set up perfectly to build Sensible Marketer. An agency anchored in people and knowing strategy is only valuable when you can put it into action.

As the CEO of the boutique agency, Kat guides the brilliant team she has assembled to help clients get more out of their marketing. A true marketing nerd at heart, it’s not uncommon for her to roll up her sleeves and dig into marketing strategy and projects.

When she’s not working (which, please, she’s an entrepreneur!), you can find her trying to plan what part of the world to explore next, strapping on her rollerblades to bring back the 90s during the two weeks of summer we have in Canada, or telling really terrible mom jokes.
